I've been teaching for as long as I can remember. I have two curious younger sisters, so explaining became part of day to day life very early on. This foundation has served me well.
My first step is always to identify the goals of the student. What motivates them? What do they want to play, sing or write? It is then possible to plan a series of intermediate steps to get from A to B.
